The Vital Monkey software and processes are HIPAA Compliant, giving you the necessary tools to run your business and ensure the privacy of your patients. Each practice has Administrative functions so that each user’s activities are tracked, and passwords are issued by the Administrator. SSL encryption uses the strongest security methods available and guarantees that your sensitive information is transmitted securely. No Software How does it work? Vital Monkey is a hosted solution, meaning that Vital Monkey hosts the servers and your data at its data centers and you access it via your web browser, over the Internet. What are the system requirements? You simply need a Windows-based or Macintosh computer and a high-speed/broadband Internet connection. The fastest browser so far for our application is Google's Chrome. We recommend at minimum - Microsoft’s (IE) Internet Explorer 7 (EI 8 is not supported yet) , Safari 4 (which can be used on Windows or Apple Macintosh). Mozilla is in testing mode. 1 Gigabyte of RAM.
Settings for your Internet Browser? This application uses Pop-Ups and therefore requires Pop-Up blockers to be configured to "Allow Access" to this site. If you attempt to log in to this program and receive a Pop-Up blocker message, or you cannot enter this program there is a good chance you have Pop-Up blocker software installed. Do I need to update any software? No. The application is 100% web browser-based so all enhancements and updates to the application will take place automatically – No need for IT help to install upgrades. What is the difference between “Front Office” and “Pro”? “Front Office” is geared to healthcare practices that outsource their billing by allowing them to transfer their bills directly to their billing center electronically while also having access to fully functional scheduling, patient reminders and with credit card acceptance built in. Certain features aren't available, such as claims management and certain financial reporting. “Pro” is geared to health care practices that handle their own billing internally and opens up all billing functionality geared to that purpose. Do I have to purchase any additional hardware or software? No. Vital Monkey provides everything – Including your new USB credit card swipe device. Vital Monkey takes care of backing up your data, ensuring availability, database maintenance, tuning etc. What are my payment options? When a fee is involved, most customers have the monthly fee automatically charged to their credit card each month. Are there any long-term contracts? No. There are no commitment contracts at all.Getting started with Vital Monkey is simple and quick. You can cancel your FREE subscription at any time. What do you mean by concurrent user connections? Concurrent user connections are the number of users that can be simultaneously accessing your account. The pricing is based on the number of simultaneous user connections you want to have access to your account. Example: If you have the FREE subscription (two concurrent connections), only two of your users can be using your account at the same time. Other users will have to wait until one of those users exits the Vital Monkey application. The number of concurrent user connections you purchase depends on your needs. If you're a practice where only one to two people will ever access your account (for appointments, patients, bills etc), then one to two concurrent connections is all you will need. What if I have multiple locations to my health care practice or billing company? No problem. Our customers frequently log into their account from multiple locations. All of your data is available from your single account and can be accessed anywhere via the web. Are there any time or data limits when accessing my account? No. You can access your account at any time for as long as you want. Vital Monkey's routine account maintenance is scheduled during non-working hours so it won't impact your business. Is there a limit to the number of users or health care providers? There is a limit of two (2) concurrent users (for the free subscription) BUT, you can create unlimited healthcare providers in your account. What do you mean by concurrent user connections? Are there support fees? No. If you are interested in having Vital Monkey set up your practice (encounter forms, fee schedule, etc), Vital Monkey will do that for you. For Billing Companies I'm a billing company. Do my customers have to use Vital Monkey? No. You can still manage other customer accounts using Vital Monkey if desired, however an account fee will still be required for each one if they do not plan on using the credit card or statement services provided by Vital Monkey (otherwise, the $50/month applies – see above). We find that once a billing company uses Vital Monkey, the practices they support want to use it also since it gives huge advantages to both the health care practice and the billing company. As a billing company, who pays for the subscriptions for my health care practices? It's up to you. Some billing companies pay for the subscriptions themselves and pass the costs along to the practices where others make the health care practices pay for their own subscriptions. The choice is yours for those practices that want to have more than two (2) concurrent users, or do not want to use the Credit card function that is embedded within the application.
